Welcome. This site is dedicated to helping amateur astronomers in their quest for
finer views of the planets and Moon in the night sky. Photo-visual filters are used in
telescope astronomy to reduce glare and increase the contrast and resolution of lunar
and planetary views. Traditional filters are dyed with a single color, and must be
threaded into the bottom of a telescope eyepiece. They must be constantly switched with
other colors to get different effects. It is inconvenient to manage multiple colored filters. It
is also inconvenient to constantly have to change them in the dark, sometimes with
gloved hands.
      Our latest product,
The Spectrum Filter Wheel , was invented as a convenient
alternative to using single, photo-visual filters in telescope astronomy. Some of the
features of this custom built product include:
The Spectrum Filter Wheel shown inserted
into a Meade ETX-90 telescope. Simply insert
the product into a telescope eyepiece holder,
tighten down, and insert an eyepiece to begin
a filtered viewing session.
